Farm to Food Bank
From Fields to Families: Feeding Hope, Fighting Waste
Making farm-to-food bank a vital link in the effort to create a more sustainable and equitable food system.
Project of Food Bank Vietnam
Farm to Food Bank
The "Farm to Food Bank" project is an innovative initiative by Food Bank Viet Nam, aimed at bridging the gap between agricultural surplus and food scarcity. This project is designed to tackle several pressing challenges in the food supply chain, including reducing food waste, supporting farmers, and enhancing food security for the underprivileged communities.
At its core, the “Farm to Food Bank” project focuses on rescuing surplus agricultural products that are at risk of going to waste due to various reasons such as market oversupply, cosmetic imperfections, or logistical constraints. By connecting directly with farmers, the project ensures that these perfectly edible and nutritious foods are harvested and directed away from landfills towards those in need.

Volunteer on the farm
Your time and expertise are critical to our efforts. Over half of all soup kitchens, food pantries, and other meal programs rely entirely on volunteers.
Our food banks have a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups (big or small!), and what may be a few fun, easy hours of sorting food for you, will truly make a world of difference to the families we serve. Reach out to your local food bank and see if there is a way to partner!
